Weekend Recap

Hello all!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Here is my weekend recap.

Linked here is a video of my brother's football team, Towson University, visiting one of their own at Arlington National Cemetery.  The alum is buried very close to where my Grandparents rest so Quinn was able to visit them.
Saturday
After another field hockey tryout in the morning, making my body feel old and sore, I headed to the pool with two friends (Maddi R. and Laura K).  Earlier this week I caved in and bought a Go Pro.  I decided to buy the most inexpensive one because I wasn't sure how often I would use it, and didn't want to invest a lot of money in it (which I would rather spend on clothes).

I got to test out my Go Pro Hero and relax the day away.

This past week was the Arlington Fair; so obviously I had to go at least once.  However, living in the moment and not thinking in a blogger state of mind I didn't take any pictures.
I do have a snapchat video of my friend Megan and I on a ride.

Sunday
I spent the day with my parents in Georgetown.

This grey wall just happened to be the perfect backdrop for an outfit of the day.
I wore a black Pacsun crop top with these high waisted Levi shorts from Urban Outfitters.

The day was so hot we had to stop to cool off with some drinks at the Old Glory Tavern.
My mom took these photos of me as my dad tickled and annoyed me, and I'm not completely sure why but I thought I would include them.

Last but not least... today (August 9th) is one of my best friends 16th birthday!   Carly and I have been super close since third grade and I wanted to wish her an amazing day while she is celebrating in Paris, France.

Happy Sunday!
xoxo

Summer Swim Team

Most people see the summer as a time for relaxation; however, if you are apart of a summer swim team your summers are the complete opposite.  Although, I wouldn't want to spend my summer any other way.  Being apart of a summer swim team is like having a second family; full of fun and supporting you in whatever you do.  I've been on the Donaldson Run swim team my whole life and I love my team more than anything.  This past summer we were in division two in the NVSL (Northern Virginia Swimming League).
All of the thunderbolts together at our senior meet.
Me, Sarah Brooks and Amanda Tarkenton at the senior meet.  The meet theme was kings and queens; the seniors dressed up like royalty and the rest of us were peasants, thus the brown body paint to look like dirt.
Me and Sarah Brooks.

Me and Amanda Tarkenton cheering on our team.

For the last two summers I coached the youngest kids on the team (6 and under); the Thundersquad.
I love coaching and passing on the team traditions I experienced when I was younger.  I coach alongside Amanda Tarkenton, Sarah Brooks, Andrew Fleckenstein and Bryan Meade.

Thundersquad coaches minus Sarah Brooks.
I am wearing a Free People slip dress that is no longer available, and these Michael Kors wedges.

Me and four of my Thundersquad ladies at one of our swim meets.

For our last swim practice Sarah brought her Go Pro so we could take underwater pictures.

Every season I spend with DRRA is better than the last.

Above I am wearing this Joyln Swimwear bikini top.  I love to wear Joyln bikinis when I'm coaching because they stay on well and are cute at the same time.
Sarah is wearing this top and these bottoms.
Amanda is wearing this top.

Father's Day

This past Sunday my mom was in New Orleans, and Quinn was at beach week; therefore, it was up to Sean and I to make Father's Day great for our dad.  We relaxed at home for the first half of the day; later in the afternoon we decided to drive into D.C. and explore the monuments.  We looked like tourists taking pictures on the mall, but we didn't care.  After the heat became unbearably hot we drove to Rumors, a bar and restaurant that my dad used to work at.  Then we drove into Old Town to eat some seafood for dinner.

I took these photos of the National Monument.

My dad's idea to do the pose that Sean and most boys do when taking photos.

I was supposed to be touching the top, pretending to prick my finger.  However, I clearly didn't line up myself correctly.
I wore this Ecote Guaze True Blue Frock Dress in black and white ($59).
I wore it with this black Free People halter bralette ($39).
I wore these Erika Ray Bans in tortoise ($115).
All the photos above were taken by Sean.
The Lincoln Memorial (photo taken by me).

The National Monument and Reflecting Pool (photo taken by me).
Raw Oysters at The Fish Market.
The oysters were delicious, I ordered a lobster roll which was good; however I would not suggest ordering the raw clams.

Obviously I had to snap some pics of my dad with the Father's Day snapchat filters.

I hope all Fathers had a great day!

Quinn's Graduation

Last Thursday my older brother, Quinn, graduated from Yorktown High School.  The graduation was held at D.A.R. Constitution Hall.  It was an incredibly hot and exciting day.  I'm so happy for my brother and the other graduates; however, it did not hit me until graduation day how much I am going to miss Quinn.

My family after it had stopped thunder storming at the graduation.
Me and Megan O'Neil at the graduation.
I wore a Forever 21 maxi dress featured in the Bethany Beach blog post.

Quinn leaves for school next week because he will be playing Division One football at Towson University.  We are so excited for Quinn and cannot wait to watch him play college ball.

Congratulations class of 2015!
